BOAT BUYING AT AMERICA’S RV & Marine Auction
“IT’S A MATTER OF CONFIDENCE“

We are proud to be the first marine auction facility to offer customers, both buyers and sellers, the state-of-the-art Dynomite™ Dyno Power Tests” for each boat that is processed through our system.

Today’s high-tech boat engines demand a high-tech testing regimen that surpasses the typical, and increasingly inadequate, simple compression test and oil analysis commonly relied upon to determine the mechanical condition of many boats on the market today.

Compression Test:
This typically indicates nothing more than the compression level. And the run test only tells us that the boat will start, respond to the throttle, and shift in and out of gear. Good information but limited…it just doesn’t go far enough to furnish the boat buyer the level of confidence that comes with written confirmation that the boat has been thoroughly tested with a dynamometer.

Oil Analysis:
While it has some uses – it can only alert the buyer to potential engine problems, and even that is left open to the interpretation of the individual operator. It does nothing to address the critical question; how will the engine really perform in a real-world environment? The dynamometer power test does just that.

Dynamometer Power Test:

Why it is so important?

A dynamometer power test is the only accurate and reliable engine testing procedure that you can be confident will truly evaluate the internal condition of both the engine and the drive. The engine and drive of a tested boat will only produce maximum horsepower and torque if the internal components are working properly. This can only be determined with dynamometer testing.
In fact, a comprehensive dynamometer power test is even more reliable than an actual “on-the-water” test because the lake test will, in practice, only test the engine to the levels necessary to overcome the friction of the water and nothing more. The DYNO power tests the boat, under load, across the entire range of RPM, from idle to full throttle.

What this means to you:
By efficiently and accurately determining the actual horsepower and torque of an engine, the dynamometer power test takes much of the uncertainty out of boat buying by revealing more potential mechanical problems than any other testing method available.
